Lockheed C-5 Galaxy (N50007)

Always exciting to hear the buzz saw sound of a C5 taking off. A lot of you non-airplane folks are not aware of the influence that this aircraft had on commercial air transport. The design studies for this program, and engines, led to the development of the 747, DC-10, & L-1011, which ended up bringing airfares down, and making air travel affordable to the masses. So, this is one government program that actually did a lot of good by throwing off a lot of technology in to the commercial sector which benefitted many. Similarly, this is exactly why we need to stay involved in the space industry.
