United Airlines is set to add a seventh airport to its UK network this summer with the launch of seasonal nonstop service between Newcastle and its New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport.

With up to 17 departures per day from London/Heathrow to six of its US hubs and nonstop trans-Atlantic flights from Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle, United’s network coverage of the UK is unequalled.

“We’re excited about the unprecedented range of travel choices we’ll be offering our UK customers this summer,” said Bob Schumacher, United managing director sales, UK and Ireland. 

“From our Heathrow base at the award-winning new Terminal 2, we serve Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco and Washington DC, while we also serve New York/Newark nonstop from six other UK airports, plus Chicago from Edinburgh and Washington DC from Manchester.

“What’s more, every one of our US destinations is a United hub, enabling our customers to make quick and easy same-airline connections to hundreds more points across the Americas.” 

United will operate five flights per week between Newcastle and New York/Newark during the period May 23rd to September 7th, 2015 (both dates westbound).

United operates the largest hub in the New York City metropolitan area at Newark Liberty International Airport. 

Located just 16 miles from downtown Manhattan, the airport offers the fastest surface transfer journeys to many parts of the city, including the AirTrain service to New York Penn Station in midtown Manhattan, with a journey time of less than 30 minutes.

Customers arriving at New York/Newark on United flights from Newcastle will be able to connect quickly and easily with United flights to destinations throughout the Americas. 

United operates flights from New York/Newark to more than 300 destinations throughout North, Central and South America and the Caribbean, including more than 100 served non-stop.
