The Airbus A380 of the Airbus Company made a stunning visual approach during the Farnborough Air Show 2014. This was a stunning show for the audience of the Farnborough Air Show (www.youtube.com) Mehr...

I guess it could have been the video but in the head on shot on final, it looked like a tad of crab cranked in there, yet it did not appear wind was a factor and touchdown appeared normal.

Yeah, see what your saying on crab. What was impressive too me was how the 380 turned on a dime.

Take a look at that base leg as well. He just sort of hung it around there like a 172.

Made it look like a walk in the park. Aircraft seperation was way tight. What's up with that?

It's an air show.

How does that disclaimer go? "Professional driver on closed course, don't try this at home".

Head on, it looks a bit like a great white dog tick.

I noticed that too. No idea why that close unless it was for show but I would imagine he had his finger on the trigger for a go around if needed. I would have. That 400 had barely rotated when the 380 touched down or at least that is what the video made it look like. Probably not quite that close in actuality .

It's caused by the foreshortening effect of a long zoom - it squashes the picture depth down in proportion to the amount of zoom applied - I am sure optical science and lens geniuses can tell you by how much, but I don't know the formula myself.

It's still a grotesque looking bird after landing. Looks ok in the air.
