Maybe a delay in sound plus the aircraft engines were probably still spinning down after impact.
From watching the video of the crash I wonder if the aircrafts variable-sweep wings were extended , they didn't appear to be - would explain the very high speed and angle

Come now, this plane most probably was transporting an email server from upstate NY.
That said, it is shocking how the craft simply seemed to hinge in the middle as it touched down. Almost as if the cockpit section simply broke away. By the sound, it is almost like the engines were still running post explosion, or there were other craft in the are spun up.
