I had the pleasure of flying for the first airline to operate the Dash 7, Rocky Mountain Airways, based in Denver, Colorado. I flew alongside the first pilots who were ever trained on the airplane. During my nearly 50 years of flying, it was by far the most challenging, yet rewarding job in my career. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to work for a company that pioneered scheduled airline service into some of the most challenging airports in the world. The de Havilland Dash 7 was specifically designed to operate in such demanding environments and it did so with an outstanding safety record. I will forever miss that airplane.
