Boeing 747-400 (N465MC)

Ah, the classic steam bath of a June day in Mississippi. Nice shot. What the heck was that thing doing in Jackson? The only other time I can remember seeing a 747 there was way back in the early 70s in the classic Delta livery, unless you count the one the space shuttle was piggy-backed on during a later visit.

Casey... thanks for sharing this one with us (and the additional photos too). You betcha, she and other 747 types are a rare visitor to KJAN... and as your photos show, it has been a very muggy, humid, wet, and otherwise rainy day for the most part at this airport! This weather includes scattered and isolated thunderstorm activity... with more on the way!

Hey guys, this was surely a serious spotting sight! Someone hit me with a text and a picture of it landing, and I launched up and off to the airport I went! It was on the ANG ramp, with a Sun Country 737-800, so I'm assuming they were chartered out for Military personnel to fly back to Cali or the other way around. Also yes, Cliff, the weather here is always interesting. If you don't like the weather, wait a minute!

You've got the WX part nailed to the wall, Casey. If you don't like the weather, just wait and it will change!!! I wish I had been there to see these visiting aircraft on the MS ANG 172nd's ramp at Thompson Field... and sharing parking space with their C-17 Globemasters... :-)
