Boeing P-8 Poseidon (16-9009)

Beautiful shot from a great angle. Australia is starting to take delivery of the Poseidon to replace the incomparable Lockheed P3 Orion. Still think I would prefer to have four engines on a dark stormy night over the ocean a long way from base..

Nice shot. We loved the P-3 as an ASW platform, those turboprops were great down low.(2000 hrs as PIC). But they don't make them anymore and parts and maintenance getting difficult to find. P8 does offer 100kt faster transit time and avionics are all upgraded.

But, middle of the night, middle of nowhere, driving rain, 5000', I'll take the Orion, thanks.
