BurntOut
Why is the number 5 upside down on the air intake scoop?
Viv Pike
BurntOut - it is because the Number 5 plane usually flies inverted during shows. The the "5" is the right way up.

Travis AFB. I've never been stationed or TDY there but I did see quite a bit of cargo either inbound or outbound to there.

Great shot! Love those Thunderbirds. Last saw a C-5 Galaxy at McChord Field (KTCM) about 5 years ago when it did a flyby just after the Thunderbirds finished up.

Beautiful shot. Knew it had to be Travis. Stationed there ’57 – ’61. Many take-offs and landings in C-54, C-97, C-124, C-133 (both A & B), T-33. Oh well brings back many memories, both happy & sad. Thanks for the poke.
