With all the runway excursions lately it seems to be more of an airmanship issue than anything else. You can turn the tiller all day long but if aircraft is going to fast for conditions, it’s going keep going straight ahead! From slippery, painted runway markings to taxi lines, poorly swept runway ends added to the get to gate quickly attitude adopted by most airlines, this is going to happen.. I would have loved a 20 to 25 kt headwind in those conditions.
