Spirit first A321NEO delivery
Yesterday, May 19th 2023, Spirit Airlines took delivery of its first Airbus A321-271NX. N702NK built as SN 11328 will become ship 6702 in Spirits fleet. The aircraft departed from Airbus’s facility in Hamburg, XFW around 1145am making a tech stop in Keflavik, KEF after a 3hr first leg. About an hour later, the aircraft made a 6 hour second leg arriving at Spirit’s Detroit metro, DTW base a little after 4pm local time. That was a great video! I was out there catching the A321 Neo landing!!!!!
The A321neo is a pretty interesting piece of new equipment.
Having said that, though - Do we know if Spirit paid Airbus the upcharge to have access to the cargo hold and the second of the two engines?

Perhaps paying a further upcharge for a third engine would be advisable, as Spirit uses the P&W GTF engines, which are having reliability issues.
They currently have 2 320Neos in DTW that are wrapped up and in short term storage because a lack of engines/ parts. They have some in DFW in the same state.
