Now if Dog the bounty hunter's size 38 wife was on there...

hindsight is not 20 20. Wahlberg has no idea what he would have done because he wasn't there.

All that commotion from Marky Mark in the cabin would've created some good vibration...

Mark Wahlberg kick some ass on a high-jacked airliner? Yes. Land a plane? No.

I don't even see the kick some ass part.

Its not appropriate what he said, the pax on UA93 did everything they could...and there was a private pilot aboard. If there wasn't, I doubt people who have never flown an airplane could land a 757 at an airport, its sad but the truth.

Personally, I have never been accurately quoted in print media both in terms of the actual words I used or many times in context too. Who among us hasn't had a fleeting thought that if we were on one of those planes we could have landed it or done something to help. It was a well intended comment about his family and everyone, including the highly compensated 9/11 family members need to chill out a little.

Never have seen someone on here be vulgar, but its a nice change. Who are you saying this to?

Yeah, i can understand where he is coming from. But seriously, i think he needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Now, if we were talking about Steven Seagal, it would be a whole other matter.

All the people of 911 have paid a high price for the knowledge we now have. We as a society are our own best protection. Be vigilant. We now know who the enemy is and it will not change through negoitation or treaty.

Yes, it was a stupid thing to say. Once the hijackers got control of the aircraft their fate was sealed. If he would have said he would have acted at the start of the hijacking, it would be different. However, prior to 9/11 people were sort of trained to be lemmings in the face of a threat. Hindsight being 20/20. It is impossible to say what one would do until put in that situation.

I agree with the author in the article. Saving the plane in a movie is a whole nother ball of wax than doing it with several die hard, wanna go meet allah types, who don't care if they live or die... Mark needs to remember to separate fantasy from reality...

Now he needs to apologize for his discography and film career.

sorry, but I understand his comments .. really get tired of people being so sensitive -- free speech is free speech... He seems to confuse his movie personna with real life though

I agree. I've always thought of this guy as a turd but I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Of course I don't think he's would've been the tough guy he thinks he is and been able to single handedly save the day but nothing wrong with what he said.

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” Wahlberg said. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”
