I hope there isn't a blizzard that weekend. There's an excellent chance this will be the first SuperBowl played in snowy conditions in decades.

As a native DFW resident, does the debacle a few years ago at Cowboy Stadium count? Us Texans and winter weather just don't mix.

Oh no! That was just some snow before game day. Plus, Cowboy Stadium has a roof.

I'm talking about players actually playing in snow, live as it's falling from the sky, on TV during the SuperBowl, with spectators in the stands with icicles on beards.

I think it's the first SuperBowl in a while played without a roof, so far north. They're taking a big chance. That weekend comes at the snowiest time of the year.

Don't you think that's a disadvantage though? A team used to cold climates vs a team used to warmer climates, PLAYING in the cold? That gives an advantage. Wouldn't be fair to the Dolphins to bust their butts (hypothetically) to play a Super bowl in freezing temps against a team used to it. A temperate climate means balance. If the Dolphins got to the SB, even by beating northern teams during the cold in the playoffs, it's still not right they would have to go all that way to play Green Bay in a blizzard. Hypothetically. :-)

Funny you mention Miami, as they have gotten a disproportionate share of SuperBowls. Most teams have been playing in extremely cold weather by the time they reach the SB. Playing in Miami would be a competitive disadvantage for most teams, most years.

If the time they actually make it to the SB, they get the one year it's held up north in a roofless stadium in a blizzard, then it wasn't meant to be, or it wasn't meant to be easy.
