I guess one would expect an airline to cut 18% of their flights when 20% of their aircraft are grounded. Pretty much proves one shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket. Hopefully, they make it through as I for one don't need phony smiles or a bag of pretzels, just a safe trip. It seems all of the other airlines are quick to announce their new routes but never publish those they are dropping. Funny how that works.

Why isn't West Palm Beach (PBI) on the list? We are always burdened with the so called low cost carriers as well as startups that don't last long.

Having worked at an airline I've never run across a happy employee once. So, I would take his comments with a grain of salt.

I am going to have to disagree with you... I have worked for 5 Different Airlines and loved all of them except 1 (and I did not stay there long). Started out as a Electrician then Avionics (A&P plus FCC licensed from Day 1). I know a lot of mechanics who love the career! Where I look forward to my retirement in less than 10 years, I really love the work, and 99% of the mechanics I have worked with love it as well.

Wow! Five different airlines and you're still ten years away from retirement. Loving your work is one thing. Loving the company is quite another. Fortunately, for me it was only one airline and for the most part I loved it. Until the sharks came along and sold it off. Over the years I managed over 400 mechanics and as I said, there were very few if any that didn't think management were all idiots. I guess it's a perceptions thing.

I started 40 Years ago... Worked for Piedmont, USAir, Piedmont Regional, Southwest airlines (Very Short Tenure/They did not meet my standards), Pinnacle Airlines (then became Endeavor), and now GoJet. Piedmont was bought out by USAir, so I can't them as 1. I loved Piedmont, USair was Crap, Piedmont Regional was Great, Pinnacle was Great, SouthWest which is (South Worthless) which I hated due to there treatment of new Mechanics, and now GoJet which is great. Pay could be better, but the work environment is great!

The article tells us that Spirit is flying about 18% fewer flights compared to prior years quarter. And that 23 Airbus neos are parked due to P-W GTF engine issues.
