The aircraft, registered ET-AMG, was performing flight ET908 to Bamako with 90 people on board when the right hand Pratt and Whitney PW4062 engine suffered from an uncontained failure. Good job by the pilots to control it. Proper training pays off.

Oh wait - you are so wrong !! Ask *ALL* those American Trolls who comment here - Ethiopian pilots only have "3rd World Training" and are prone to crash planes. There is no ways that a 3rd World Pilot could have "proper training" ...

I suspect that the ET 302 crash has focused more press attention on ET, and that they will willingly report any and all incedents as drama. Sounds like the ET pilots did their job skillfully and with a positive outcome. Interesting to note that their fleet is fairly modern and diverse (B787, and A350s).

Good control from the pilots and quick actions... that could have turned much worse real quick. glad they were close to the airport. By looking at the images, it looks like it was still burning when it landed... Makes me wonder about the firewall shutoff valve... Should not had been anything there to burn. That is most certainly an Uncontained Turbine Failure.

The "third world" comment, yea besides the beatings of airline employees, business as usual.
Funny a day later possible maintenance issues at Ethiopian, I think it's time for Star Alliance to request an exit and or report.

It may be hard to blame this on Maintenance when this engine type has been in the news and P&W under heat for issues with it.
