Boeing will pay out 2020 employee bonuses next month, despite a lousy year

Übermittelt

Despite a horrendous year in which Boeing lost a record $12 billion, the company next month will pay out annual performance bonuses to most employees. Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun told employees in a message Thursday that “during a time when many of our customers will not be in a position to offer the same incentive, our Board of Directors recognizes the important strides the team has made.” (www.seattletimes.com) Mehr...

I used to have a manager in the airline industry that would brag about "failing up". She crashed and destroyed two company vehicles after being told not to touch them. She failed up from a pee-on manager to general manager.

It does not surprise me one bit that Boeing is doing this. I would rather see bad and dirty actors in jail, rather than being paid out, but hey that's just me.

Umm... "pee-on"? Saying it wrong on purpose, I hope.

Boeing executives know well how to throw crumbs to the dogs to keep them happy while they eat their lavish bonuses.

Not to mention the nice "Management Reserve" that they keep from the profits.

...but only because the execs want their lavish bonuses.

The fact no one went to jail and they got to keep their jobs was reward enough.

This is employee bonuses not management bonuses.

????? "Lousy year"???? Boeing ALWAYS has 'GREAT years' because of all that TAX PAYER $$$$$$ it receives EVERY YEAR!

Boeing dug they’re own grave just to prove they know how to use a shovel. Snitching on bombardier, debris in wings, the MAX and the list goes on and on. Reward failure

Was any of that the employee’s fault?

Debris in wings would most certainly be employees. Robots are not building them.

"our Board of Directors recognizes the important strides the team has made.”
As in ... We've completely moved on from killing 346 people - we sleep well! Here's a coin.

It is important to remember that these are “employee” bonuses not management bonuses. The employee’s don’t have a lot of say in things that cause planes to crash.
