Flying to Cape May (KWWD) for the $500 breakfast with sleepy co-pilot
Übermittelt
We encountered a close bird strike and head-on with a Cessna on our way back. This flight was a sad reminder of Berny, Rosy's son, who flew with us to Cape May on Feb, 2020. Unfortunately, Berny passed away on Nov 1, 2020 at the young age of 33 and is missed by everyone that knew him. (www.youtube.com) Mehr...Flying to my 2nd favorite airport

I had to make a short field takeoff last time I was in Ocean City, NJ due to unexpected flooding on the runway. The airport manager told me that I am the last one to leave before the airport is closed due to the flooding. The pressure was on.... This time, however, the runway was clear and we had a great time visit this beautiful resort city by the ocean. Übermittelt
I just purchased this Dakota beauty the day before and planned to fly it back home to NJ on Christmas day. The weather looked good for VFR, which is my current ratings. Rosy and I began flying from Houston (KTME) in the morning with clear skies. However, about 1.5 hours into the flight, I ran into an IMC for a 12 heart-stopping seconds where I couldn't see anything. What saved me and my honey was the fact that I trained with Captain Doron (best CFII ever) for many hours in real IFR… (www.youtube.com) Mehr...Best “No-Go” decision after my plane’s annual
Übermittelt
I just picked up my plane from its annual and discovered a few issues with it that some I describe in this video. The final issue that convinced me to make the no-go decision was during the run-up procedure. I hope you enjoy the video and hopefully learn something from it. Übermittelt
On our return flight from Gabreski to Linden we heard this emergency saga involving the pilot of Delta flight number DL1050 on his approach to JFK. We were truly concerned for the flight that carried 80 souls on board. I have to say that the Delta pilot and NY ATC were very cool and professional throughout the incident. Übermittelt
This video captures the flight to one of our favorite hangout, i.e., Sky Manor (N40). For the first time I mounted the camera on the bottom tail section so I can see in more detail my landings (as per idea from AOPA article). Sure enough, I discovered that I need to improve my transitioning and center line alignment during the landing phase. The Schweddy Balls is referenced in minute 2:37. Übermittelt
This video documents our flight from Linden (KLDJ) to Georgetown, DE (KGED) along the east shoreline of New Jersey. During the flight you can hear ATC warning us of the F16’s in our vicinity. A minute later we heard an unusual conversation where two of the F16’s near us declared that they were low on fuel and needed priority landing. You can hear this around minute 3:40 & 5:40 into the video. P.S. User Acc0rd79 pointed out to me with his sharp eye that you can actually spot the F16, zooming… (www.youtube.com) Mehr...BREATHTAKING VIEWS of Manhattan's East River & Hudson Skyline!
Übermittelt
This video captures a number of "firsts" for me. Some of these were flying over Manhattan East River with breath taking views of the city and its bridges that include the world famous Brooklyn Bridge. For the first time I utilized class Bravo instead of CTAF to navigate along Manhattan's East River and the Hudson Skyline. The video further depicts flight over the Statue of Liberty, LaGuardia Airport and Queens Whitestone & Throgs Neck Bridges among others. I flew alone this… (www.youtube.com) Mehr...How I screwed up my landing.

This video captures my really bad habit of holding the yoke with two hands while landing, contrary to what I was taught as a student pilot. I picked up this practice while purchasing the Dakota during my test flight in an attempt to resolve my hard landings with this heavier airplane. This method seemed to have solved my hard landings issue with the Dakota for the year that I’ve owned it. During this flight, however, this method has proven to be BAD. While attempting to transition, I realized… (www.youtube.com) Mehr...Squawks Voted On
