Pregnant, deaf woman punched along with her service dog on airplane
Chaos on-board an airplane heading to Orlando when police say a man punched a service dog in the face because his wife was allergic. He also hit the animal's owner, who is deaf, and pregnant. (www.wthr.com) Mehr...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
No one has been arrested... I guess this country is perfectly fine with people attacking dogs, pregnant women, deaf people, and children. What a sewer...
Amen Jim..glad I wasn't there..wouldn't be just a dog yelping, be that asshat yelping as well! Punching a dog because the wife is allergic?..hey stupid do you punch a tree if she has allergies to leaves, or hit the ground if she's allergic to grass?..stupid bafoon!
It's a good thing the dog he punched was a good natured Great Dane. My German Shepard does not take kindly to people raising their fists in my direction.
I think it's more interesting to note that those here who are against service animals are completely silent on this incident, let alone the assault of one that is covered by the ACAA and ADA.
I am not against true service animals, and in this case, it appears the animal is a bona fide service animal. It is the so-called "emotional support" animals that I am against, the ones that you can get a certificate for $75.00 from an internet doctor that I am against. They are generally not trained, not certified and are a result of their owners taking advantage of the system.
I am so glad Florida uped their animal abuse laws..depending on which jurisdiction lays the charges, "it" is probably looking at a lot more than 1 felony charge..Assaulting a pregnant person, young children and the dog?
I am not against service animals at all. I just believe that they should be documented. That being said, this is abhorrent behavior and that there has not been an arrest is, in my opinion, ridiculous but, indicative of today's society. No one cares about anyone but themselves these days, and that goes for the owners of "service" animals, too. If you are blind and need a guide dog, and have to travel on an airplane, fine, I have no issues for a well trained and documented animal. It's not the animals that I do not like, it's their owners. I have to have photo documentation before I go on an airplane, so, what is wrong with having the same requirement for "service" animals? The answer: There is nothing wrong with it. I have said in other posts on the subject that I have no issues with documented animals being true service animals. There are dogs, cats, horses, skunks, ferrets and all manner of creatures out there that play that roll, and guess what sets them apart from the chihuahuas and the Pomeranians and other purse dogs? The owners. They are actually trying to provide a service to other people, and they are not thinking about just themselves. Now with this case, the dog punching jerk should have been thrown off the flight and charged with battery and animal cruelty.
Great excuse “my wife is allegic to dogs”... so the perp is considerate towards women?
