Can't say as I blame them. I'd be galled too, probably downright pissed. I'd put the tax on the 8% international and tell them to pound sand for the rest. Let DAL ante up.

As someone put it once "We didn't get rich spending our money, we got rich spending other people's money". This sounds like another case that from Delta's perspective.

yeah, and it also sounds like the Airport wants something for nothing. LOL

That's how they paid for us, they used our money to buy us.

Sounds to me like Alaska needs to be expanding its interline agreement with Hainan Airlines into a full Code Share and begin pushing traffic that direction. With their new 787's they can certainly beat Delta's cost and comfort.

and they need to leverage that advantage if they have any hope of generating enough cash to service all of the capital they've invested in those birds.

True...but with Hainan being one of the few five star airlines, with some competitive pricing and additional service to Hong Kong and Shanghai, Delta will be suffering if
Alaska can push enough traffic to them. Haikou is the nearest hub to North America and with their extensive intra-China network they should be able to suck up traffic for all of China avoiding changing airlines in HKG, Shanghai or Beijing.
