NZAA to trail new flight path into Auckland
the Auckland airport Cooperation is trailing a new flight path into NZAA/AKL to reduce the noise levels and save on fuel burn fo big wide bodied aircraft using the approach path into AKL. I can remember back into the 1980"s this looks to be the actual flight path used before with DC10-30 and 747-100/200 series aircraft operated by Air NZ, Qantas, PAN AM, Continental. Strange they want to use the same flight path, also with the new third runway that would cut a fine line for aircraft on… (www.nzherald.co.nz) Mehr...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I am wanting to know when this flight path is going to be active or are aircraft already using it for the approach pattern into Auckland International Airport. I flew into NZAA/AKL yesterday on NZ5 from KLAX we came in from the north over Coromandle and landed on 23L at 5.45am. Unless this is coming from the western side over the Tasman sea across The Manauku Harbor entrance and over the suburbs heading east towards the Hararaki gulf be for making or banking to a sharp right on approach to the airport. If any Kiwi or other persons living in AKL know this pls let me know of this is correct.
I wonder who will the first on TV to whinge.
