Awesome and a Super Work Horse
Nice. I remember when the B-52's were flying during the cold war, "stopping communist expansion and aggression in the free world". What a great aircraft, older than the pilots who fly them!
My old "office" back in the Cold War days. It's a workhorse beast for sure.
The B-52 brings back memories of Fort Bliss in the late 50’s at El Paso.
Absolutely the finest Bomber. More should be built with all the latest technology.
@Wingrat, these BUFF's are actually quite advanced. The last round of modifications brought them out of the steam-gauge age. One of the (few) good things our Congress has done in the past few years is to continue allowing the AF to update these with new engines. The only thing really old is the actual airframe. I think I heard they are scheduled to continue being airworthy and in service through 2050.
Indeed, an amazing warbird that has FAR exceeded it's design parameters. Thankful it treated my brother so well all the 20 years he flew them.

LONG LIVE THE "BUF"
Wonderful B-52...! BUF is a fantastic monster of the skies..
Multiple generations have flown them
There are some aircraft which have a "don't mess with me" look to them. I think this is one.
My my, a Buff in Ostrava. Why bother with nostalgia? THAT picture is a Buff "stopping communist expansion and aggression in the free world" today!
Nice pic of a BUFF with a deployed drag bag.
Gives me many memories of Griffis Air Force Base Rome, New York
