N613TV —

Copyright AJ Alexander - La Voz. Mid-air collision of two TV news helicopters over Phoenix, AZ, July 27, 2007. N613TV is the inverted aircraft on the left-side of the image, of KTVK TV3. Remains of its tail-boom are clearly visible in the far upper left corner of the image. Witnesses stated N215TV (of KNXV TV 15) moved up and into the stationary N613TV while both were covering a police pursuit. The KNXV aircraft was broadcasting live at the moment of impact, though its camera was positioned downward at the police activity below and viewers saw no images of the collision. Two crewmen from each aircraft received fatal injuries. Both aircraft fell into a park and burned approximately 50 yards apart.
