USAF (McDonnell Douglas) KC-10A Extender 85-0033
** One of three "Farewell Flyovers" performed by Travis AFB-based KC-10 Extenders during a 'Farewell to the KC-10' ceremony conducted during the 2024 Wings Over Solano" Air Show held last weekend at Travis (KSUU). **
Travis is the last USAF base to still have KC-10s at the installation. All KC-10s that had been assigned to other bases have now been sent into retirement and mothballed, and the last six KC-10s at Travis will be gone by September.

85-0033 is 39 years old and, as seen in this flyover, is showing some signs of its age, but throughout their four decades of use the KC-10s proved to be an extremely dependable air tanker. The "Farewell to the KC-10" tribute conducted during last weekend's two-day air show extolled the virtues and many noteworthy accomplishments of the KC-10, and it was a well deserved tribute.
