Boeing 707-300 (F-BHSQ)
This Kodak 127 film photograph of Air France's "Chateau de Compiegne" (F-BHSQ), an Intercontinental B707-3xx, was snapped in May, 1968, on a Kodak Brownie camera at KJFK in New York City. The 50+ year old print was not only very faded and curled up, it was also a rather long distance shot because the Kodak Brownie had a fixed lens which could not be zoomed, so in the original picture this AFR B707 is quite far away; thus, very small. By using a cellphone to take a closeup picture of just the B707 and then transferring the phone photo to my computer, I was able to use PS to rejuvenate the colors a bit. As seen here, the result will never win any awards for outstanding quality, but the resulting pic is clear enough to enable viewers to see the ventral fin, the French flag painted on the fuselage, and the Air France livery as it was back in the 1960s. Truth be told, I had decided that the picture was of such poor quality that I would not post it, but when I went thru the 6 pages of B703 photos already posted in FlightAware's gallery, I was a bit shocked to discover that there aren't any pics of the classic B703s wearing Air France's 1960s-era paint. So I figured there may be some old timers out there who would remember this livery, and I decided to post this shot after all.
