Interesting subject matter, but poorly written article.

Very poorly done video. Why all the different cameras? Does anybody really care what the pilots look like when they are flying the airplane? Why can't we have just one camera pointed out the front of the aircraft, and not cut to a different view every three seconds? You can't call it "Pilots eye.tv", if you are looking at the wing. If you want a good cockpit video, with one camera pointed forward at all times so you can see the entire approach, visit Haitiano1982 on youtube. These guys know how to do it. One camera pointed forward at all times, with the entire approach visible. No cutaways, no stupid music, and full cockpit audio!!

What a terrible website! Couldn't get it to work. Next time, just post the Youtube video link. It works so much better.

Boguslaw, I think they should ask about a passenger's religious beliefs. Would you want to sit next to someone who is chanting verses from the Quran? That would scare the hell out of me. Yes, not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims. But, that's an entirely different subject that I don't want to get into right now. I don't think pat-downs are overkill. How do we know what is in somebody's pockets, or what they might be concealing under their shirt? Why should we draw the line? Terrorists don't care. They are going to get to us no matter what we do, so why should we limit ourselves because we are a nation made up of crybabies and we are afraid to hurt people's feelings? Pat-downs need to be done. It is the quality of the American people that is the problem. Americans have become too touchy-feely, it is disgusting. We, as a nation, need to grow up. We need a major overhaul of the people in this country. People need to realize that they can't scr

I just don't see what the big deal with pat-downs is. I flew out of MHT this past weekend, and was patted down by a male screener at the security checkpoint. He was very professional, courteous, polite, explained what he was going to do, asked me a few questions, and I was on my way. How is this sexual assault? He never violated me or my privacy. He was doing nothing but his job. He did this with everybody who was in line (female passengers were screened by female screeners). People in this country need to realize that flying on an airplane is not a right (nowhere in the Constitution does it say "a person has the right to travel by airplane"), it is a privilege and should be treated as so. If you don't want to go through the proper procedure to get on and travel by airplane, then you don't get to go. Simple as that.

What a disgusting and moronic comment, Toby. Shows what a classless human being you are. Have some compassion for this lady. She lost a member of her family. You and Cal both need to grow up!!

Zachs09, you are wrong on all acounts. It is Sully trying to make a quick buck off of his fame. Wasn't it him I saw complaining on t.v that airline pilots don't make a lot of money? And, now, he has book and movie deals?!? I wonder why!! And, to say that Sully did his job better than any other pilot could have, is incredibly naive on your part. You must have forgotten about Captain Peter Burkill, and crew, and British Airways Flight 38. His Boeing 777 crapped out 175 feet above the ground on final approach to Heathrow Airport. He managed to get his crippled aircraft on the ground, missing many cars traveling on the A30 by about 20 feet, and all in about 3 seconds time. Hell of a flight crew, if you ask me!! Or, how about the Gimli Glider in Canada? Captain Robert Pearson and First Officer Maurice Quintal dead-sticked their 767-200 to a safe landing on an airfield-turned-auto-dragstrip, which was in use by many people and cars at the time. Again, hell of a flight crew her

Forgive me for being harsh, but I find this absolutely disgusting. I have failed to see, from the moment this happened until now, how this man is a "hero". He was just doing his job, what he was trained to do, and nothing more. And, now he has book deals and movie deals?!? He is not a real hero. If he were, he wouldn't be trying to make a quick buck off of this incident. A real hero doesn't need to brag about what he did. A real hero dusts himself off, and moves on with life. I'm sorry, Sully, but you're no hero. You're just a typical American out to make a quick buck.
