CALABASAS (CBSLA) – A small plane caught fire after crashing on the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills Tuesday afternoon. The plane landed sometime before 2 p.m. near the center divider on northbound Liberty Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A Tragic loss.... Glad the pilot got out, but hate to see history distroyed.
At least Harrison Ford was not flying, anyhow.
California freeways have had many landings lately. That’s an amazing accomplishment with 40 million humans living in one state and most drive cars.
It's particularly bad in the Los Angeles area since there are very few open spaces and few airports. It's either built-up areas, mountains, or freeways, and during much of the day the latter are packed like parking lots.
Maybe aircraft should have emergency landing flashers installed? So drivers would be aware that someone is trying to get into the traffic lane.
There is never NOT massive traffic in southern CA. I'm surprised anyone even noticed, except for the smoke.
