Interesting. An issue from the first day of a particular month was featured and no issues from any other days of the month. Don't know if that means anything or not but it caught my eye. I've explored one issue from the archive of November 1, 1944 at length and it makes for some interesting reading. For instance, the article "Can We Trust the Russians?".

I noticed that too - thinking the publication was released on the first of every month during that time (I believe it was still called "Aviation," then eventually turned to "Aviation Week." Another interesting find is Mussolini's letter to the editors: http://aviationweek.com/blog/mussolini-s-love-letters-aviation-week

Thank you! If you like vintage aircraft ads/articles/photos - Aviation Week launched its 100 yr archive 2 days ago: http://archive.aviationweek.com/ (There's even editorial letters from the Wright Brothers)

Seems that advertising agencies in that period has a far better understanding of their trade that the modern ones have - very focussed, very clear message without the need for PC, without the need for multi cultural accent, etc

Find out who they were and bring them back

Too bad it's not really viewable by non-subscribers. I think I'd have enjoyed it
