Short field landing in Cessna 182
Short field landing in Cessna 182 on a 700 foot grass strip (www.youtube.com) Mehr...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
The Army taught me to land the Cessna O-1 on a 500 foot dirt road over a 50 foot barrier of trees. Of course the plane was designed for that with 60 degrees of flaps and a powerful engine. We controlled rate of descent with power and airspeed with attitude. I think I gave my flight instructor ulcers but we did it. Hanging on the verge of a stall all the way down.
As a former 182 owner, I can say I have made similar landings/takeoffs, but there is always a pucker factor. Great airplane if you're familiar with it, but you have to be alert, because nature is a bitch!
Did anyone else notice he has an AOA device on the glareshield? That helps when the stall warning is screaming to let you know what "lift" you have left.
was pleased to hear stall warning horn going off as touchdown occured. Makes for a short and certain landing. Nice piece of pilotage...
One way in, one way out! And this guy is one of, oh you pick a really small number, who knows it even exists. If it is charted at all it has a P in the chart circle to indicate "private" to keep the go-pro morons from crashin on his property. If they could find it. This guy had been there before and was smooth as silk in the right equipment. Hats off! And stall warning is for the "unaware".
Great video from the back, but why does that idiot in the right seat feel the need to record it on his phone??????????????????
