Don’t Expect Cheap Airfares to Come Back Soon, Airline Executives Say

Übermittelt

Airfares are sky high, and airline executives expect them to stay that way. Airlines are battling surging costs for fuel and labor. Meanwhile, worker shortages and delayed plane deliveries are preventing them from adding more flights when more people want to fly. (www.wsj.com) Mehr...

I just saved 200 dollars flying Sun Country to Las Vegas from DFW rather than flying American and saved 145 dollars over flying Southwest.

As I get an E-mail from Southwest advertising $59 fares??

That $59 sale is only for 2 seats on a plane. The rest will cost you $400 bucks.

Your carry on will be $110 ;-)

You must be thinking of some other airline. Southwest has one of the most generous carry-on policies around. Allegiant and Frontier are a different story.

Our new guy told the pilots to save every dollar we could. A few weeks later he doubled his pay along with his upper managers. Yet they have seem to not have money to settle an over due contract. Funny how labor gets tagged as the problem.

Nothing will be "cheap" again as we knew it. One prices get jacked up, it's easy to convince people that a lower price but one still higher than before is a good deal. Look at gasoline. After seeing $5/gal, $3.50 seems cheap.

LCC airlines are endeavouring to advertise 'cheap air fares' that are approximately double the cost of pre-pandemic charges. Attempting to cash in and endeavour to capture financial revenue rather than charge realistic LCC fares to maximise passenger capacity.

Yes, how dare a company think they should “endeavour to capture financial revenue”! What system do they think we operate under, capitalism? /s

Of course, they say that.

Stop posting PAYWALL articles please.

This is still no good reason for American to jack up fares 61% on one route out of DFW but essentially leave an airport within 2hrs driving distance of that destination with little or no increase at all.

GOOD! We need to raise prices more so that we can get some more decent people on the flights. Far too many drunken white trash fliers...Then there is Allegiant, I think that most of folks on those flights are game show winners or flying to the talk show to find out who the father is...

"White" trash?

We've been looking at different videos of these low self-control types.

Actually, the term used was “drunken white trash flyers”. Glad I could help you read English, genius. Do you by chance work for Vortex Consulting?

Aren't you forgetting the drunken black trash flyers getting into scuffles too? Racist much?
